Synthetic Garments Synthetic
fiber is used to fabricate wide range of garments such as bloomers,
frocks, shorts, shirts, t shirts, under garments and night wear.
Synthetic fabrics contain fibers that are made from inorganic materials
or that are made from organic materials that have been combined with
chemicals from gases. Fibers can be created from inorganic materials
such as glass, metal, carbon, or ceramic. Types of Synthetic Fibers Acetate : It has a crisp or soft touch and come in wide range of colors; dyes and prints well. These drapes well and are shrink, moth, and mildew resistant. Possessing low moisture absorbency and relatively fast drying, acetate face a little static problem. Clothing made of acetate are usually "dry clean only", but in recent years hand washable acetate has developed. Acrylic : Light-weight, soft, and warm, these can be dyed to bright colors with excellent fastness. Acrylic absorbs and releases moisture quickly, thus allowing the fabric to "breathe". It is resilient, retains its shape, and resists shrinkage and wrinkles. Possessing excellent pleat retention, these are resistant to moths, oil and chemicals, and sunlight degradation. Nylon : Strong, weighing less than any other commonly used fiber, nylon is stretchable and durable. These are smooth and dry quickly. Dirt doesn't cling making nylon garments easy to clean. These does not absorb moisture well - can be hot and clammy in the heat. Polar Fleece : Polar Fleece is a fabric structure made from polyester or acrylic. These insulates in extreme cold as an outer layer or as a thermal mid layer. Highly breathable and quick-drying, these resists mildew and is very durable. Polyester : Strong, stretchable, and durable, polyester does not wrinkle and dries quickly. Usually polyester does not absorb moisture making it hot and clammy when worn in hot temperatures. Polyester microfiber, such as fleece, can absorb moisture. Rayon : Strong and extremely absorbent, these are soft and comfortable, drapes well and does not have a problem with static. Made in a variety of qualities and weights and can be made to resemble natural fabrics. Spandex : Elastic-type fiber that can be stretched many times its size and then spring back to its original shape. Lightweight and strong, these allows freedom of movement. These are also resistant to abrasion and deterioration by body oils, perspiration, and detergents. End uses Synthetic fiber is used in the manufacturing of wide range of clothing including lingerie, blouses, shirts, dresses, outwear, sheer laces, nets, jackets, trousers and pantyhose.
